Do you know this portal is very useful?

Links to state portals mixed up
By SIM LEOI LEOI

PUTRAJAYA: The government’s website (www.gov.my) may be an award winner but visitors will get lost and confused in it because links to some state government portals are mixed up.

Some of the websites linked to the cyber gateway cannot even be found.

It features the wrong links to the portals of seven state governments – Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu.

Clicking on the button for Perak, surfers will instead be led to links relating to the Perlis government and its various state agencies. The Perlis button leads to Penang while the Penang button is linked to Perak. Sabah’s button leads to Selangor, Sarawak to Terengganu, Selangor to Sabah and Terengganu to Sarawak.

The link to Perak does not function, but it is possible to access the Perak website by typing the URL address www.perak.gov.my.

There is also a link to a “non-Malaysian state” on the website. However, there is no information posted on this “non-Malaysian state” or for the links for the Federal Territories of Putrajaya, Labuan and Kuala Lumpur.

Although most of the state government websites are updated, some of the links to their agencies lead to the messages that either these are “not found” or “error 404.”

For instance, the link on www.gov.my for the Perak Mentri Besar’s office indicates the “Perak Chief Minister’s Office” and has the message “website not found”. Similarly, the website indicates Chief Minister’s office for the Mentri Besar in Johor.

Some of the websites via the links show that these have not been updated for some time – information on the website for Perak’s administration and finance division has not been updated since Feb 23, 2006.

Most of the websites of the state agencies and governments are, however, up to date with their information.

The Federal Government’s website won the World Information Technology and Services Alliances) Global ICT Excellence Award (public sector category), presented at the recent 16th World Congress on Information Technology 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit has been promoting the website as the one portal for the public to access information on the Government, its agencies, forms and services as part of its “no wrong door” policy.

The website’s links to the Government are working and up to date.

Makan telur tingkat risiko diabetes

Kinoruhangan..

If you think that egg is good for our body, think twice after reading this article taken from Berita Harian.
***********************************************************************************

- Agensi

The Terminal 2' - Japanese man makes airport home

If you want to be a popular man on this planet, this could be your inspirational story. It is not necessary to be a brilliant man to become popular. Read this!

MEXICO CITY – Hiroshi Nohara is on a layover at the Mexico City airport. It has lasted almost three months, and he has no plans to leave.

For reasons he can't explain, the Japanese man has been in Terminal 1 of the Benito Juarez International Airport since Sept. 2, surviving off donations from fast-food restaurants and passengers and sleeping in a chair.

At first, he frightened passengers, and airport authorities asked the Japanese Embassy to investigate why the foul-smelling man refused to leave. Now, he's somewhat of a celebrity, capturing Mexico's collective imagination with nearly daily television news reports on his life at the food court.

Tourists stop to pose with him for photographs or get an autograph.

The Tokyo native flew into Mexico with a tourist visa and a return ticket home, but he never left the airport. In an interview Thursday alongside the airport McDonald's, he said he had no motive for his extended stay and doesn't know how much longer he'll remain.

"I don't understand why I'm here," he said through a visiting interpreter originally hired by a television station. "I don't have a reason."

The embassy can't force him to leave, and since Nohara's visa is valid all Mexican officials can do it wait for it to expire in early March.

During his stay, Nohara's wiry goatee has grown into a scraggly mass. His red-tinted hair is speckled with dust and dandruff, and his cream-colored jacket and fleece blanket are dingy with overuse. He smells like he hasn't had a shower in months.

"He's a calm person, a nice man," said Silvia Navarrete del Toro, an airport janitor. "He just sits here and eats all day."

Various stalls in the food court give Nohara free snacks and drinks, sometimes even throwing in hats or coffee mugs with store logos to get free publicity during his frequent television appearances.

Strangers often buy him pastries or hamburgers; he prefers the latter.

He sits with the interpreter, talking and laughing for hours, at a small table covered with cups of cold coffee, packets of ketchup and sandwiches wrapped in foil.

Stroking his facial hair, Nohara said the 2004 film "The Terminal," starring Tom Hanks as an Eastern European man stuck in a New York City airport, was not his inspiration. But he acknowledged the similarities.

"My life," he joked, "is 'The Terminal 2.'

Insulting Lord Jesus is always paid with unpredictable accident

Read this and remember that what ever you do you must do in name of Lord Jesus. Never insult Him in your life, but always appreciate Him in whatever you achieve in your life.

In 1966, a very famous man (beatle's member),John Lennon insulted Lord Jesus by saying he was more popular than Lord Jesus. Then you know what happen to him after more than 10 years? He was murdered in 1980.

Vatican forgives John Lennon for Jesus remark

11/22/2008 3:00 PM, Reuters

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The Vatican's newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a "boast" by a young man grappling with sudden fame.

The comment by Lennon to a London newspaper in 1966 infuriated Christians, particularly in the United States, some of whom burned Beatles' albums in huge pyres.

But time apparently heals all wounds.

"The remark by John Lennon, which triggered deep indignation mainly in the United States, after many years sounds only like a 'boast' by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll," Vatican daily Osservatore Romano said.

The article, marking the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' The White Album, went on to praise the pop band.

"The fact remains that 38 years after breaking up, the songs of the Lennon-McCartney brand have shown an extraordinary resistance to the passage of time, becoming a source of inspiration for more than one generation of pop musicians," it said.

Lennon was murdered in New York in 1980.

Bahagia jika sentiasa intim

- Agensi

Bahagia punca gemuk

Berat badan wanita bergantung kepada kegembiraan: Saintis

source: http://www.bharian.com.my/Current_News/BH/Thursday/Dunia/20081112224820/Article/index_html

Tidur cukup elak sakit jantung

Saintis dapati warga emas kurang rehat mudah kena strok, sukar bernafas

Only imagination can limit us

“When someone says you can’t do something, it shows that anything is possible,” Phelps said. “When you put your mind to a certain thing, it can happen. The biggest thing is nothing is impossible. All it takes is an imagination.”

Phelps has proven this.

My Comment:

If you want to achieve something in your life, you can achieve it with hard work and imagination. As a christian, we have great source. That is Lord Jesus. Therefore, if we are trying hard to achieve something, bear in our mind that Jesus must be our guidance to walk the path to our dream.

Dare to dream!!!

12 simple ways to supercharge your brain

Just to share some good info...try and see what happen with your brain..

Taken from: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/12-simple-ways-to-supercharge-your-brain-293892/

Have you ever felt exasperated when you bumped into someone at the store but absolutely couldn't remember their name? Sure, it happens to all of us.
Despite being the strongest computer on the planet, our brains do lapse. It's hard to blame them really. As humans, we spend much of or existence stuffing our brains with stuff.
No matter how powerful our brains are, they need recuperation time to be kept in shape. Think of it as a tune up for your brain. Skipping brain maintenance is as silly as the person wandering the parking garage because they forgot where they parked. Is that you? Are you that person? If so, fear not; we are all that person at some point.
Now I am not a brain surgeon and I am not going to suggest you do anything surgical or dangerous. I am however an astute student of human behavior so I always look for simple ways to super charge my brain.
Here are some things you can begin doing as soon as today to begin the great brain tune up:
Eat Almonds
Almond is believed to improve memory. If a combination of almond oil and milk is taken together before going to bed or after getting up at morning, it strengthens our memory power. Almond milk is prepared by crushing the almonds without the outer cover and adding water and sugar to it.
Drink Apple Juice
Research from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) indicates that apple juice increases the production of the essential neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain, resulting in an increased memory power.
Sleep well
Research indicates that the long-term memory is consolidated during sleep by replaying the images of the experiences of the day. These repeated playbacks program the subconscious mind to store these images and other related information.
Enjoy simple Pleasures
Stress drains our brainpower. A stress-ridden mind consumes much of our memory resources to leave us with a feeble mind. Make a habit to engage yourself in few simple pleasures everyday to dissolve stress from your mind. Some of these simple pleasures are good for your mind, body and soul.
• Enjoy music you love
• Play with your children
• Appreciate others
• Run few miles a day, bike or swim
• Start a blog
• Take a yoga class or Total Wellness routine
Exercise your mind
Just as physical exercise is essential for a strong body, mental exercise is equally essential for a sharp and agile mind. Have you noticed that children have far superior brainpower than an adult does? Children have playful minds. A playful mind exhibits superior memory power. Engage in some of the activities that require your mind to remain active and playful.
• Play scrabble or crossword puzzle
• Volunteer
• Interact with others
• Start a new hobby such as blogging, reading, painting, bird watching
• Learn new skill or a foreign language
Practice Yoga or Meditation
Yoga or Meditation relives stress. Stress is a known memory buster. With less stress, lower blood pressure, slower respiration, slower metabolism, and released muscle tension follows. All of these factors contribute significantly towards increases in our brainpower.
Reduce Sugar intake
Sugar is a non-food. It’s a form of carbohydrate that offers illusionary energy, only to cause a downhill slump once the initial burst has been worn off. Excess intake of sugar results in neurotic symptoms. Excess sugar is known to cause claustrophobia, memory loss and other neurotic disorders. Eat food without adding sugar. Stay away from sweet drinks or excess consumption of caffeine with sugar.
Eat whole wheat
The whole wheat germs contain lecithin. Lecithin helps ease the problem of the hardening of the arteries, which often impairs brain functioning.
Eat a light meal at night
A heavy meal at night causes tossing and turning and a prolonged emotional stress while at sleep. It’s wise to eat heavy meal during the day when our body is in motion to consume the heavy in-take. Eating a light meal with some fruits allows us to sleep well. A good night sleep strengthens our brainpower.
Develop imagination
Greeks mastered the principle of imagination and association to memorize everything. This technique requires one to develop a vivid and colorful imagination that can be linked to a known object. If you involve all your senses - touching, feeling, smelling, hearing and seeing in the imagination process, you can remember greater details of the event.
Control your temper
Bleached food, excess of starch or excess of white bread can lead to nerve grating effect. This results in a violent and some time depressive behavior. Eat fresh vegetables. Drink lots of water and meditate or practice yoga to relieve these toxic emotions of temper and stressful mood swings.
Take Vitamin B-complex
Vitamin B-complex strengthens memory power. Eat food and vegetables high in Vitamin B-complex. Stay away from the starch food or white bread, which depletes the Vitamin B-complex necessary for a healthy mind.
I don't believe these are that tough. If you find yourself increasing stumped, give a couple of these a try.
